A new spam campaign is exploiting the OpenID security protocol. The messages look like legit emails from local real estate companies and invite the recipient to view properties for sale in their area using the logo of well-known realtors like …

- Taking the step to mouse over a link and look at the address it points to is a surprisingly effective countermeasure against spam, but is not a foolproof method. You should always know where you're going in the middle of a city or on a highway, and knowing which direction you travel on the internet is just as vital to keep your computer clean and your private information safe. - Oh, the perrenial Doomsday talk. It never stops. If it's not one thing, it's another. Yet, we're still here. And, of course, the net will still be here come July 9. This reminds me so much of the Y2K bug talk, though this is with less impact. Funny how people are so dependent on the internet now. I even find myself checking the net when I wake up. We need to wean ourselves from the net from time to time. It could be therapeutic, refreshing and, yes, productive. And, maybe, if we do this, we won't get scared too much of news of losing it for good. May 15, 2012
- Anybody who has used email for quite a while would expect that unexpected emails are probably spam, especially if it talks about things that you don't know about or have not done. It is best to simply just ignore them. It's never prudent to be that curious cat. Curiosity kills. Or in this case, can start a flood of other unsolicited emails, or worse download a serious malware or virus into your system. You have to hand in to the new generation of spammers, though. They are getting creative. But maybe, not creative enough yet. But just as Einstein said, human stupidity is boundless. Spammers can still find a few victims. May 15, 2012
- Well if he had any hope of ever getting my vote, that's long dead now. Just like a politician to push for better online privacy legislation and protection against this kind of thing and then turn around and spam voters. I hope people rebel against this and take a stand against this sort of practice. May 15, 2012
- All these Doomsday(s) talks make me laugh whether it's the Mayans, or the FBI, or the UFO, etc. When we don't check our systems, Doomsday might be sooner, like today. So don't get fooled by all this Doomsday talk but do your job and then there will be no Doomsday(s). Pretty simple! :) May 13, 2012
